The Eclectic Reader Challenge

This year, I have decided to take part in the Eclectic Reader Challenge. Hosted by Book'd Out, the goal is for participants to read twelve books from twelve different categories. As I have now been blogging a while, I have seen plenty of different challenges, but this one really appealed to me because it is going to take me out of my comfort zone and means that I will be reading books from genres that I usually overlook.

The twelve categories are as follows:

Award Winning
True Crime (Non Fiction)
Romantic Comedy
Alternate History Fiction
Graphic Novel
Cosy Mystery Fiction
Gothic Fiction
War/Military Fiction
Anthology
Medical Thriller Fiction
Travel (Non-Fiction)
Published in 2014

My selections are:

Award Winning: Disgrace by JM Coetzee
True Crime (Non Fiction): In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
Romantic Comedy: I Say Tomato by Katie Wall
Alternate History Fiction: TBA
Graphic Novel: Vampire Academy the Graphic Novel by Richelle Mead
Cosy Mystery Fiction: TBA
Gothic Fiction: The Bad Sister by Emma Tennant
War/Military Fiction: TBA
Anthology: Magic Dirt by Sean Williams
Medical Thriller Fiction: TBA
Travel (Non-Fiction): Going Postal by Nathan Millward
Published in 2014: TBA

Obviously, my list is not yet complete and there are still five TBAs there. I plan to spend the next few days searching Amazon and my local bookstores for inspiration. If you have any titles that you would like to recommend to me though, feel free to post them in the comments below ...
