Feature & Follow Friday

I found this awesome little blog hop while I was doing the rounds on blogspot today. I'm always up for finding new things to read, so I thought I'd join.

The Feature and Follow is sponsored by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read and the intention (so far as I can tell, anyway,) is to help like-minded bloggers network with one another.

There is also a question to answer this week, so I shall do my best ...

What one book or books would you be nervous to see as movie adaption of because you believe the movie could never live up to the book?

Hmm, that's a huge question. And as egotistical as it seems, I'm actually going to choose my own book, Being Abigail. The idea of seeing my own book made into a film terrifies me - what if the filmmakers got some of the most important details (or the things about the book that were dearest to me,) wrong?

But to answer the question about a book I've read, I'm going to choose Lonely Werewolf Girl by Martin Millar. I fear that some of the wit and charm of this novel may be lost in translation from paper to screen. Then again, if you found a great director ...

I think I can relate. The idea of someone taking a story of mine and transforming it into a movie is...terrifying. In other news- your blog is so new! Hope you have a lot of fun. Happy FF

Hah, as an author it seems to be even worse. I know what a connection I have to books but none of them are written by me, so I suppose it's even worse for authors even though they have to act as if they are happy about the adaptions. Poor authors.

I think I would be very nervous to see my book being made into a movie! New follower :)

For me it's The Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness. I'm just not sure how it would translate.

Hopping through. New follower! I think it would be incredibly terrifying - although also thrilling - to have a book I wrote become a film.

Hi Kathryn

Now I'm pretty sure I've commented somewhere else around here, but not sure if it worked :/

Anyhoo, I completely agree, I can relate to it too. In an ideal world, if one of my stories was to be made into a film, I'd hope to direct and cast and everything else myself. Although to be completely fair, I can think of very few films that live up to a book...

Interesting blog :D

Thanks JLT. You did comment elsewhere. I reckon you would make an awesome director and screenwriter.
